Big Jay entertains the student section as the Jayhawks take over on downs during the second quarter on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Memorial Stadium.

University of Kansas football fans will be able to park in downtown Lawrence and catch a free shuttle bus to and from KU’s football stadium for all home games, the City of Lawrence announced Wednesday.

Parking in the lower level and ramp of the Riverfront Parking Garage and the Vermont Street Parking Garage will be free for weekend game days.

Lawrence Transit has been testing a pilot program for fare-free bus service this year, and this will include service to and from David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. The service will run two hours prior to kickoff and one hour after the game or when no additional postgame passengers are present. Signs on the buses will display: #11 Downtown/Football Service.

Bus service will pick up and drop off passengers at only these three stops:

• In front of the Riverfront Parking Garage near City Hall.

• On the west side of Vermont Street north of Eighth Street, in front of the Senior Resource Center.

• David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
